How to Cope With Having a Baby in Lockdown

If you’re expecting a baby that is due in the next few weeks then it’s likely that you’ll go into labour during some kind of lockdown or during the early stages of it being lifted. Life is different enough with a new baby so it’s normal to feel anxious about how you’ll deal with all these changes and the lockdown situation.    Don’t be scared of seeking medical help It’s understandable to be reluctant to be around other people when the government is advising us to avoid it but yours and the baby’s health are always the priority. Why we all love a royal baby!

They’re just like us - there’s no escaping the pregnancy side effects - exhaustion, varicose veins etc - the odds are that the Duchess is experiencing some of these too. Albeit she’s better looked after than most of us! The pregnancy wardrobe - most of my pregnancy wardrobe came from my sister who had a baby the year before. But I can still enjoy imagining life as a glamorous mum to be. Speculation on the date - baby number 3 is apparently due in early April but really that means he/she could be born anytime from now until the end of April.  Apparently Prince George and Princess Charlotte were both late so we may all be waiting a while.  Labour...

Preparing your sibling for a new arrival

We have a new baby arriving this autumn so this is a topical subject in our house. Here are a few ideas to help an older child to be able to adjust to a new sibling  Consider the timing of when you tell them about the baby. For younger children 9 months is an incredibly long time to wait etc New baby books - age and stage appropriate  Play more with dolls, premmie nappies, discuss  Meet some babies etc  Plan nursery together  Emphasise big brother sister importance  Prepare box of little activities

Coping with a second or third pregnancy (or more!)

Coping with a third pregnancy:  We're expecting our third baby this autumn. This is my third pregnancy and we have a daughter who'll be 4 this autumn and a son who'll be two. We feel blessed to be having another baby but it must be said that pregnancy third time round is not quite the walk in the park I'd been hoping for!    Energy levels  As a person with a lot of energy usually I don't find pregnancy too tiring, once he first few weeks are done.
