Once upon a time there was a woman who decided to leave the corporate world, embrace her dream to work for herself and spend more time with her family. This dream is now my reality and I am blessed to be able to do the school run every morning and afternoon and I have also built a successful business. I also have to meet deadlines and ensure my valued customers (that's you) receive their products in a prompt manner and know they are dealing with a business they can trust! Has it been easy? ... Definitely not! Has it been worth it? ... Without a doubt! I get lots of questions from other mums asking me for advice on how...
The Best of British ... and what it means to Yummikeys! I was watching the news this week and the BBC were in Leeds speaking to local business owners about their concerns and questions with the looming general election (don’t worry - I am not going to talk politics). It got me thinking deeply about what it means to be a British Business and to be committed to contributing to the local and national economy. This autumn we ran a competition for three baby models to star in our autumn photo shoot with Sarah Campbell Photography, a talented family and wedding photographer.
With this being our third baby there's really not much we actually need at all. We even get a baby box this time as we're in Scotland so I've bought very little so far. However, I have had a few little splurges because I just couldn’t resist and here they are: Car seat cosy - I love these and have never had one for our previous babies. So handy to not have to be bundling your baby into a big snowsuit and also can be pulled open if you get home with a sleepy baby who's overheating. How amazing is this woodland animal print. It's handmade in the UK by Auchineden Crafts, and you can choose from a wide selection...
We have a new baby arriving this autumn so this is a topical subject in our house. Here are a few ideas to help an older child to be able to adjust to a new sibling
Consider the timing of when you tell them about the baby. For younger children 9 months is an incredibly long time to wait etc
New baby books - age and stage appropriate
Play more with dolls, premmie nappies, discuss
Meet some babies etc
Plan nursery together
Emphasise big brother sister importance
Prepare box of little activities
