Feeding Necklaces
What is a feeding necklace?
A feeding necklace, also called a breastfeeding necklace or nursing necklace, is worn by a parent during feeding to give babies something safe to hold and focus on instead of pinching, scratching, or pulling.
Do feeding necklaces actually help with fidgety babies?
Yes — many parents find feeding necklaces help keep babies calm and focused during feeds by giving their hands something to do.
Why does my baby pinch or scratch during feeding?
This is a normal developmental stage. As babies grow, they explore using their hands and often pinch, pull, or fidget during feeds.
How can I stop my baby pinching while feeding?
Giving your baby something safe to hold, like a feeding necklace, can help redirect this behaviour and make feeding more comfortable.
Are feeding necklaces designed to be chewed?
No. Feeding necklaces are designed for holding and sensory engagement during feeding — they are not teething toys.
What age is a feeding necklace suitable from?
They are most useful from around 8–12 weeks, when babies begin grabbing and becoming more aware during feeds.
Are feeding necklaces only for breastfeeding?
No — they are helpful for breastfed, bottle-fed and tube-fed babies.
Teething Toys
What are teething toys?
Teething toys are designed for babies to chew on safely to help soothe sore gums during teething.
Are YummiRings suitable for teething babies?
Yes — Yummirings are designed with teething babies in mind. Their smooth, cool stainless steel surface can feel soothing on sore gums, while the shape and movement make them easy for little hands to hold, explore and chew. Many parents find they’re a great alternative to traditional plastic teething toys.
What are the best teething toys for babies?
The best teething toys are safe, non-toxic, durable, easy to clean, and easy for babies to hold.
What age do babies need teething toys?
Most babies start needing teething toys from around 3 months, when they begin putting things in their mouths and may start showing early signs of teething. Our YummiRings are suitable from around 3 months through to toddlerhood.
Are your teething toys safe to chew?
Yes — Yummikeys and YummiRings are designed for babies who explore by mouthing and are safety tested for this use under supervision.
Safety & Materials
Is stainless steel safe for babies?
Yes. Stainless steel is widely used in cutlery and medical environments because it is strong, hygienic, and non-porous.
Why shouldn’t I give my baby real keys?
Real keys can have sharp edges, may carry dirt, and may contain materials not suitable for babies. Yummikeys are designed to offer a similar feel but in a baby-safe way.
Are Yummikeys and YummiRings safety tested?
Yes — they are tested to relevant safety standards and made from non-toxic materials.
What materials are your products made from?
Our products are made from high-quality stainless steel and carefully selected components designed for durability and safety.
Are your products plastic-free?
Yummikeys focuses on durable materials like stainless steel and avoids unnecessary plastics wherever possible.
My baby has a nickel allergy — can they use your products?
Our products are made from 316 grade food-grade stainless steel, which does not contain nickel.
Feeding Challenges
Why is my baby distracted while feeding?
As babies grow, they become more aware of their surroundings and can lose focus during feeds.
How can I keep my baby focused during feeding?
Many babies become more distracted as they grow and become more aware of the world around them. Reducing distractions can help, but many parents also find that giving their baby something safe to hold, like a YummiNecklace feeding necklace, helps create a calmer and more focused feeding experience.
Why does my baby keep unlatching?
This is often due to distraction or developmental changes rather than a feeding issue.
What helps a fidgety baby during feeding?
Many parents find that giving babies something safe to hold helps create a calmer feeding experience. Our YummiNecklace feeding necklace gives busy little hands a gentle focus, which can help reduce fidgeting, pinching and constant unlatching during feeds.
